Hello Again3
Bailey is doing really well on the meds. They have not made him sluggish or too groggy. He may sleep a little bit more, but not that much. He is eating fine and is enjoying all those treats everyone asks me to keep giving him. 🙂 Question out there for anyone – I have recently noticed his nails on his remaining back leg are really short, almost to the nip, if not already there. His front nails are still normal. This is the first time I have noticed this and am wondering if this could be causing some of his inability to hold himself up at times because he can’t use his nails to grab on to the carpet or they are hurting him – hopefully it is just normal because I have no idea how you would get them to grow.
Prancer on the other hand seems to be having some belly discomfort, which I know is from the toxins in her body, yet she just does not complain – I just hear her belly noises. She is still eating but sleeping a little more.
The ER vet said I had my own hospital at my house, I just think of it as our “Family Home”. We do what we need to for every member of the family…and they are definitely members of the family.
Oh good—a good update! We like that arund here!
Cleary Bailey and Prancer are members of the famiy…..and very loved and cared for members! As it should be with such amazing dogs they are indeed precious souls!
I have no idea what’s going on with the nails on the back leg though. It would seem to be some type of deficiency… but because it’s only that foot, it ccouldn’t be that. Does he appear to have any “fungus” or other tyeof crude where the nail bed meets the skin? How is his gait? Is he draggingthat foot at all or scraping it? I hate t pull out the “old age card”, but it could simply be one of those changes that happend as we age…..maybe?
So glad yo are enjoying your quality time and making wnderful happy memories.
Thanks for the update and glad the meds are helping. Incredible dogs and incredible pawparents!
Love and hugs to all!

I don’t see anything on his paws or pads. Guess a call and maybe trip to the vet is in order for tomorrow or early next week.
Thanks for the advice.
That is SUCH a relief that he’s doing well again!
When it comes to the nails, I’m going to guess that he has an altered gait and his paw is scraping the ground more than usual. Our own Wyatt Ray’s rear paw nails are also very short. But you definitely want your vet to look at that, it could mean that the altered gait is causing some pain.
Yay to you for all you do to keep your animals strong and healthy. You are a rare breed and a real rock star!
