Day Seven – Week one over6
It is hard to believe that it has been a whole week since this began. Bailey is doing great. He is even navigating the doggie door. He did fall down today on the tile when he was moving to fast around a turn – he was fine, I was more freaked out. I have tried to lay area rugs down around the house (the house looks like a carpet store) but the whole house has tile in it.
I spoke with our vet today about the chemo for Bailey. He is not sure we should put him through chemo depending of the recommended drug. He said there is a drug out there that dogs don’t tolerate well. We are now waiting on the internal specialist/chemo doctor to speak with my vet and see what she recommends. I expressed to my vet I didn’t come this far to give up now, however I did nto want him to be miserable. I feel fairly confident my vet has Bailey’s best interest at heart.
Thank you again for all your positive and supportive messages. They really help.
Yay Bailey! Been a rough couple of days on the site – so it is great to read good news. We also have rugs EVERYWHERE. I get laughed at for saying it looks like a clown exploded in our house b/c none of the rugs are the same color! Keep up the good work!

Glad to hear Bailey is doing well! Please tell him to take corners a bit more slowly… 😉
glad bailey is doing so well…wow, getting through the doggie door is a major deal!! not everyone does chemo, and there are several types that are sometimes prescribed. get the facts, and you’ll make the right decision.

Yay for Bailey!! Glad he is doing so well!! I am very familiar with the mosaic of rugs around the house. We bought runners at Lowe’s for Valentina and they were well worth it. I still had to piece together a bunch of other rugs in certain places but I put the runners in all the major walkways. Praying for Bailey’s continued recovery, I know he is going to do great!!!
It feels good to know Bailey is doing well. Wow, an all tile house! Maybe there are booties for dogs with non-slip stuff on the bottom???
We live in FL. Tile floors are popular here. They actually do make nonskid type booties for dogs but Bailey is not a big fan of his feet being touched so I am pretty sure booties are out of the question. Thanks for the suggestion. He is actually learning to slow down and stop on the rugs versus the tile.
